Currently, most G80 chains in the domestic market are made of 20Mn2 or 25mMnV alloy steel.
These chains meet the requirements for export to most countries. However, some European customers require chains to use materials that fully comply with the EN818-2 standard.
To meet the needs of different customers, we also use different materials.
Based on our philosophy, prioritizing customer needs and providing perfectly matched products for different customers is our top priority.
What G80 Means in Practice
G80 (grade 80) is a heat-treated alloy steel lifting chain. Our grade 80 chains follow GB/T 20947-2007 / ISO 3077:2001, with a safety factor of 4 times and a manufacturing proof force of 2.5 times. Production covers diameters from 6 mm to 32 mm, with working load limits from about 1.12 t up to 31.5 t depending on the diameter.
Which One Should You Order
For most export markets, our standard G80 chain does the job at a sensible cost. If your market is in Europe and your customer or certification body requires EN 818-2 material compliance, choose the EN 818-2 version - it carries the same working load limits with the material standard European buyers expect.
Matching Components
Whatever grade you choose, the hooks, shackles and connecting links in the assembly should be rated for the same grade. Tell us the working load, the lifting equipment and the destination market, and we will confirm the grade, the diameter and the fittings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is G80 chain used for?
It is a grade-marked lifting chain used for lifting, hoisting and load securement within its rated working load limit - in construction, marine, logistics and industrial settings, as covered above.
Is G80 chain suitable for overhead lifting?
Yes. G80 is a grade-marked lifting chain, unlike general purpose chains. Work within the rated working load limit and keep the grade marking legible.
What sizes does G80 chain come in?
Our production covers 6 mm to 32 mm diameter, with working load limits from about 1.12 t to 31.5 t as shown in the size section above.
