Square link security chain is built from welded links with a square or D-shaped profile. The square section resists twisting and makes the chain harder to cut than a round link of the same diameter, which is why it is widely used for locking applications.
Where Square Link Security Chain Is Used
Security chain is used for locking and general securing tasks such as gates, doors, bicycles and light equipment. The square link and D-type profiles resist twisting and make the chain harder to cut than a round link of the same diameter. It is not a grade-marked lifting chain and must not be used for overhead lifting.
Material and Surface Finish
Carbon steel (20CrMnTi, 20Mn2 or A3 grade), with or without heat treatment, and a zinc plated finish. Made as round link, square link or D-type chain, with PVC or nylon cloth covering available on request.

Standard production covers diameters from about 3.2 mm up to 25.4 mm in both metric and inch sizes, supplied in bundles or cut to length. Tell us the diameter, link type (round, square or D), cover and length you need and we will confirm the configuration.
