An aluminum swage sleeve (also called a ferrule) is slid over the end of a wire rope to form a loop, then crimped with a swaging tool. The crimp squeezes the soft aluminum sleeve onto the rope, making a permanent, clean termination without thimbles or clips.
Typical Applications
Used wherever a permanent wire rope loop is wanted: sling assemblies, guard rails, hanging and lanyards, and marine and general purpose terminations. The sleeve size must match the rope diameter, and the number of crimps depends on the sleeve size - an undersized or oversized sleeve will not hold properly.
