- Load securement, tie-downs, shortening chain on trucks and trailers
A clevis grab hook attaches to transport chain with a clevis pin, and its narrow throat is shaped to grip a chain link so the hook holds the chain at a fixed point. It is the standard hook for shortening and tensioning tie-down chains on trucks and trailers.
Typical Applications
Used with grade 70 transport chain for load securement: grabbing a chain link to shorten the assembly, attaching to anchor points on trailers and flatbeds, and building adjustable tie-down assemblies. A latch (slip) variant is available to help keep the hook in place. Match the hook size and grade to the chain it is used with.
