A bow shackle has a wider, rounded body than a dee shackle, so it can take load from several directions without the pin binding. The stainless steel version is chosen where the shackle lives in salt water, weather or chemicals.
Typical Applications
Used in marine rigging and mooring, for outdoor lifting connections, and anywhere a corrosion-resistant shackle is wanted. As with all shackles, load should be applied in line with the pin, and the pin must be fully seated and secured.

Our shackle tables cover US type bow shackles from 1/4 in to 2-1/2 in, with working load limits by size, plus European type bow shackles by millimetre size. Confirm the stainless availability and the rating for your size when you order.
