DIN 5686 knotted chain is made without welding: each link is formed from a single piece of wire and interlocked. The result is a light, flexible chain that is easy to shorten on site.
Where DIN 5686 Knotted Chain Is Used
DIN 5686 knotted chain (also called double loop chain) is a weldless decorative and general purpose chain. Each link is bent from wire and interlocked without welding, so the chain is light, flexible and economical. It is commonly used for hanging lamps and signs, as a barrier, and with S hooks. It is not a lifting chain.
Material and Surface Finish
Carbon steel or stainless steel (SUS304/316). Carbon steel versions come electro galvanized or zinc plated; stainless steel versions are usually polished. Knotted chain is also available in brass, black and other decorative finishes.
Sizes and Ordering
Knotted chain is supplied in bundles or on reels. Tell us the wire diameter, finish and total length, or the lamp/sign weight so we can confirm a suitable size.
