DIN 5685 A is the short link form of the German general purpose chain standard. The links are short and calibrated so the chain runs evenly through hooks and small sheaves.
Where DIN 5685A Chain Is Used
DIN 5685 designates calibrated short link (form A) and long link (form C) chain for general purpose use: hanging, lifting slings made on site, towing, barriers and decorative work. It is not a grade-marked lifting chain.
Material and Surface Finish
Carbon steel with a blue zinc plated (electro galvanized) finish for a bright appearance and basic corrosion protection. Hot dip galvanized is available for heavier protection.
